With the SME Climate Commitment, we have pledged to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, reach net zero before 2050 and disclose every year where we stand.

The SME Climate Hub
The SME Climate Hub is a global initiative for small and medium-sized businesses that want to play their part in tackling climate change. Its founders include the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the We Mean Business Coalition, the Exponential Roadmap Initiative and the UN Race to Zero campaign.
Businesses that sign the SME Climate Commitment publicly pledge to concrete climate targets and are recognised as part of the Race to Zero campaign. We signed the commitment in 2026.
Our commitment
Climate change affects all of us – an IT company of our size included. That is why we have committed to three targets:
- Halve by 2030: we will cut our greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030.
- Net zero before 2050: by 2050 at the latest, our net emissions will be zero.
- Disclose every year: we report on our progress every year.
Where we take action
As a software company, our emissions come mainly from electricity – for servers, workstations and the office –, from hardware and from travel. That is exactly where we take action.
Efficient software
Lean, fast software needs less computing power – for us and for our clients. That is why performance is part of our craft, not an optional extra.
Using hardware for longer
Most of a laptop's emissions come from making it. We repair and upgrade devices rather than replacing them early, and pass on or properly recycle the ones we retire.
Office & energy
Our office in Stuttgart runs exclusively on green electricity. Lights only come on where someone is: every light in the building is controlled by motion sensors. External louvres keep the sun's heat outside, so the modern air conditioning has less cooling to do.
Travel
All our company cars are fully electric or hybrid – around 95% of all journeys are driven purely on electricity. And many meetings happen by video call, with no travel at all.
Measuring & reporting
What we don't measure, we can't reduce. We record our emissions every year and make our progress public.
